1. **Adoption Agreement**: The Adopter acknowledges that the animal (hereafter referred to as the "Pet") is being adopted as a pet solely for the Adopter and their immediate family.

2. **Adoption Fee**:

   - The Adopter agrees to pay the full adoption price as communicated in the adoption approval email.

   - Payment and the submission of a completed and signed adoption form must be made within five (3) days of receipt of the form.

   - Both payment and the completed adoption form must be received before the Pet can be collected.

   - The adoption fee is non-negotiable. As PAWS Brisbane is a non-profit organisation, all adoption fees are reinvested into  helping other animals at risk.

3. **Refund Policy**:

   - Adoption fees are refundable (less a $50 administration fee) only if the Pet is safely returned to PAWS  Brisbane within  ten (10) days of adoption, with clear communication.

   - Refund eligibility is at the discretion of PAWS Brisbane's administration committee.

4. **Adopter's Responsibilities**:

   - The Adopter agrees to care for the Pet humanely and responsibly, ensuring clean and adequate shelter, food, water, and  veterinary care.

   - The Pet must reside within the Adopter's property boundaries and is not to roam freely.

5. **Condition of the Pet**:

   - The Adopter has inspected the Pet and accepts it in its current condition, behavior, and health.

   - The Adopter accepts all ongoing medical costs, including conditions outlined in Addendum A of this agreement.

   - PAWS Brisbane does not provide warranties regarding the Pet’s temperament or future health.

6. **Crossbreed Information**:

   - The Adopter understands that crossbreed references provided are assumptions, and breed traits may emerge as the Pet  grows.

7. **Liability Waiver**:

   - The Adopter releases PAWS Brisbane from any liabilities for the Pet's medical costs (with the exception of desexing in young  animals) or any future damages or injuries caused by the Pet.

   - No guarantees, expressed or implied, are made regarding the Pet's suitability for the Adopter or their family.

8. **Microchip Transfer**:

   - The Adopter agrees to cover the microchip ownership transfer fee (approximately $11–$20).

   - Microchip transfer authorisation forms will be emailed 14 days after adoption or following the desexing of the Pet (whichever i  later).

9. **Future Rehoming**:

   - Should the Adopter become unable or unwilling to care for the Pet, they agree not to sell, give away, or dispose of the Pet without first contacting PAWS Brisbane.

   - PAWS Brisbane reserves the right to reclaim the Pet at no cost, and the Adopter agrees to provide sufficient time for PAWS  Brisbane to arrange a suitable foster home.

10. **Veterinary and Medical Care**:

    - All adopted animals are desexed, vaccinated, microchipped, and treated for heartworm (if applicable).

    - The Adopter agrees to cover future puppy/kitten booster vaccinations.

    - For animals adopted before desexing, the Adopter agrees to arrange for desexing at a PAWS Brisbane partner vet clinic by no later than 10 weeks from adoption, unless specified otherwise due to health concerns. This requirement is non-negotiable.

By signing our agreement, the Adopter confirms understanding and acceptance of these terms and conditions.
